Update
Just a little update to say that-no we haven't fallen off the planet. We're all still here and doing well.
We have some new pairs of budgies. I had three English Budgie males and three regular budgie females. I have made three lovely budgie pairs.
Now, these are not hybrids they are the same species. The budgies that were brought to England (somewhere around two hundred years ago) were bred to be bigger...and bigger. They are soooooo much bigger than the wild budgerigars. Other than that they are the same. It's kinda like poodles-or schnauzers. They come in standard miniature and toy...but they are the same breed.
Any how one of the pairs - Max and Ophelia - have three lovely little eggs so far(they immediately took to each other). This is Ophelia's first clutch so we're keeping our fingers crossed that the eggs are fertile.
I also have given my little regular green budgies(Parsley and Basil-I have video of them on my you tube channel) their nest box for the first time. Parsley has done the normal budgie hen thing. She has explored the box and thrown out all the nice bedding that I had in there for her.
I still have the baby lovebirds that hatched in April. I'll be keeping them for a little while longer as summer is not a good time to find forever homes for them. Everyone is busy with summer activities.
I'm attaching a recent picture of the little cuties.
I'll be posting some new videos in the next few days as well. Now that our terribly yucky six week long heat wave has finally broken I have much more energy (:>}=
