  1. if i wanted to buy 2....could you put together a start up set for me, with everything i need and charge me for it? how much would it cost? i could buy a cage easily enough but a "kit" would be really handy. using the types and brands that you find successful.

  2. Hi bj

I could put together a kit including: Seed, avicakes(important for young newly-weaned bird),a couple of toys, a swing and a sand perch(needed to keep their nails smooth, and some spray millet. This would come to $34.00 - no profit to me :o) I don't have cages for sale though but kijiji is a great place for those too. Sometimes people have used cages that are in excellent condition. thanks, Katherine

  3. sounds good. now the other thing is...if we decided to go to my parents for xmas, is it devastating for them to travel, or to be left alone for 3 days?

  4. yes, the cage i'd want to find myself because it would have to fit where i have room for it...ideally i would have a hanging one near the front window so they would get lots of sun and company.

  5. ok this might be a double answer but the comment didn't seem to get posted so...birds can travel. They need to be kept warm with no drafts. this Christmas these little ones will still be quite youn and would be content in a small toe or Critter keeper - which is what I use as a brooder so they're used to it. As long as they had some regular out of box snuggle time with you once you had reached your destination they'll be fine. I've traveled with birds before with no problem. My parrotlet "Jazz" actually would swing away and sing along with the music in the car. He loved it.
When the birds are older it perfectly fine to leave them for a couple of days and set them up with lots of food/water and a radio on for company. Any more time than that it's best to have someone check on them.

  6. OK I didn't proof read that last comment. I meant to say that the babies would do well in a small "tote" not "toe" hahaha
